With a nerd-like fervor for history, archeology, and ancient cultures and a work history of culinary angst and excitement, we begin! By my powers combined... we shall learn about how our meals get to our table.

Cooking for friends and family is one of my favorite things. What do we need more in these days than to feel like we have a community? Food brings us together, a bottle of wine, a breaking of bread, and a celebration of being alive, even when we sometimes might not want to be. So cheers for finding hope in friends and food!

So much of our world has excluded Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) from their own histories and traditions. So much of our world has been build on the back of unfree labor and colonization. I want to take a moment to acknowledge my ancestral part in that bloody history. Here I will do my best to represent BIPOC in the way that is most true to their own preferences, and to point out the failings of white people past and present, in hopes that I can become a better ally, and hopefully you can, also.

I'm just an alien in a human costume, trying to make sense of this world. Recently I've been obsessed by fungi (as I'm sure you'll soon see). I'm currently a student at Whatcom Community College, working towards a degree in psychology. I'm passionate about helping the community, about equity and social justice, about my evil kitten and sweet pupper, and my amazing fiancé, who is the most supportive and loving and compassionate human I know.
